Laser Engraved Slate House and Stable Signs
Total Industrial Engraving is now supplying laser-engraved slate house and stable signs as seen at Christmas House at The Rectory. We laser engrave the slate signs to your specification. We can also include logos or images where required.
How do we do it?
The slate signs are brilliant for almost any house because they feel traditional but with a modern, contemporary twist. This is because of the laser engraving rather than the traditional paint-filled engraved signs you often see. The good thing about having the laser engraved signs is that you don't have any chance of the paint coming away over time and causing the sign to need refurbishing. The laser engraving just takes away a very fine layer of the slate where it comes into contact with the laser hence leaving a lighter grey marking behind. Because the laser beam is so fine we are able to achieve an excellent finish even with a very detailed image.
If you are wanting to include images or logos on your slate sign then please supply us with a high-resolution large jpeg or a dxf file. This will ensure you receive the best quality slate sign with no pixelation.
Stock Sizes
We have the following two sizes in stock:
- 295 x 210mm - £45 each
- 415 x 120mm - £30 each
We can supply them with stand-off fixings (as shown in the photo) for that extra special finish. We recommend using 2 or 4 fixings for the 295mm x 210mm (A4 ish) slate and 2 for the 415mm x 120mm slate

Can you mechanically engrave slate?
Slate house signs don't just have to be laser engraved. They can also be mechanically engraved. Therefore, the clip shows a very large, very heavy slate sign we engraved. It was an opening plaque for Severn Trent. And the slate was sourced from Wales, which was ideal given where it was going once finished. We really enjoyed engraving this, although it also created nervous energy about the place. The finished piece was truly beautiful and impressive. Not least because of its size.
We can mechanically engrave slate up to 1200mm long. We have to quote this on an individual basis. In addition, we can also source the slate for you. Therefore you can get on with what you need to do. Whilst leaving us to do what you need us to do. We are used to working to deadlines and understand that you can't have an opening ceremony without the all-important opening plaque.
